This one was filmed at the “World of Cougars” exhibit at Cougar Mountain Zoo in Issaquah, WA.
Why do I occasionally post captive cougar videos? Many people who visit IllinoisCougarWatch.com come here looking for information. Maybe they saw something they think may have been a cougar, and they need to see exactly what a cougar looks like, how they move, etc. There’s no better way to learn what a cougar looks like than by watching videos of cougars.

I’m not trying to scare anyone, but cougars have AMAZING tree-climbing abilities. This video of a captive cougar was filmed at Wildlife Prairie State Park <map>. The cougar climbs 50′ up into a tree in the blink of an eye.

This video of a wild cougar was taken by Jason Guerrettaz near Farina, IL on November 17, 2007. The cat was about 280 yards from him when he took it. This is an excellent video, and there is no doubt that it is a cougar.
